Genesis Health Clubs Announces Major Investment in Midtown Omaha

Genesis Health Clubs, the largest privately-owned fitness chain in the nation, announced today that it is under contract to purchase a 75,000-square-foot, multi-level building at 3201 Farnam Street in Midtown Crossing. This agreement further strengthens Genesis Health Clubs’ commitment to expanding and improving their facilities and reinvesting in the city of Omaha.

The building, currently owned by East Campus Realty, LLC, will serve as a significant upgrade for the Genesis midtown club at 32nd and Farnam, which is planned to relocate across the street into the new space, formerly occupied by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

“Securing this contract highlights our dedication to providing a world-class health club for our customers,” stated Rodney Steven II, the owner of Genesis Health Clubs. “This new location will offer more space, state-of-the-art equipment, and luxury finishes that will significantly enhance our members’ experiences. We’re here to stay in Omaha, and we’re investing the resources here to keep getting better for our members. We’re eager to share more details with everyone soon.”

Genesis Health Clubs, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, operates 63 locations in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Kentucky, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Florida. The purchase, expected to finalize soon, reinforces Genesis Health Clubs’ strategy of owning most of its properties and being the sole operator at each location.

Commenting on the deal, Joe Schmidt, spokesperson for East Campus Realty, said, “We’re thrilled Genesis Health Clubs is deepening their commitment midtown Omaha and look forward to an exciting and prosperous future for the entire urban core community.”
