Your Guide to the Best Summer

Sun’s out. Patios are spruced up and ready to go. Flowers are in bloom.

It’s time to unwind.

From daily events to yearly faves, walks around the park to vigorous workouts, Midtown Crossing is Omaha’s hotspot for lively festivals, drinks on the patio, fun concerts, workouts and so much more.

Midtown Crossing’s scenic, 7.5-acre green spot – Turner Park – is an Omaha favorite for countless free community events throughout the year. Parkgoers love the spacious, immaculate lawn; perfect for spreading out a blanket, enjoying the music or working off last night’s dinner with friends at Wednesday Workouts, sponsored by Methodist Health System. Or maybe, a relaxing afternoon at Yoga in the Park, sponsored by Methodist Health System.  No worries. Midtown Crossing’s well-curated schedule of events in the park is designed for people with different tastes and styles.

If music is your gig, be sure and check out Omaha’s most popular outdoor music festival, Jazz on the Green, presented by Omaha Performing Arts.  Craft beer from Wohlner’s Neighborhood Grocery and Deli, take-out food from a Midtown Crossing retailer, good friends and a cozy blanket and you’ve got yourself an incredible summer evening.

Back by popular demand, and back in Turner Park in July and August, is Playing with Fire – an exciting, eclectic concert scene with unique performers from around the globe.

Omaha’s Night Market presented by Veridian Credit Union returns to Midtown Crossing in May and June.  This free and open to the public event features an exciting vendor village with over 40 local makers and boutiques, live music along with crazy fun entertainment, outdoor games and delicious food and drink.  Bring fido.  Bring your kids. Bring grandma.  It’s a blast.

There’s always something to do in Midtown Crossing. And, after being couped up inside all winter, there’s nothing more invigorating than an outdoor workout with friends, game of Bocce Ball or a walk along Farnam Street to browse the works of art with Omaha’s popular Chalk Art Festival.
